The Hugh Lane Gallery’s connectivity with our communities is enhanced through our learning programmes. Children and adults are offered opportunities for understanding and contributing to the artistic life that surrounds them by engaging in imaginative ways through our programmes with artworks in the collection, exhibitions and visual art practice, as well as exploring their own creative potential in our dedicated education studio space. The Hugh Lane Gallery is committed to providing dynamic, innovative and engaging programmes of education that include a multiplicity of programmes for people of all ages and interests. These include study days, adult drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, film-making, mixed media classes and portfolio preparation classes, film screenings, Coffee Conversations, Culture Clubs and artist-led workshops for children, youth and families. The Gallery also programmes guided tours of the collection and exhibitions, Wonder Club Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) discussions, public lectures and art history series, as well as schools and community programmes. Practising artists and art historians are at the centre of our education programming bringing flair, creativity and imagination to everything we do.
