Drop-in Family Workshops for Open House Dublin 2016
Construct, Draw, Imagine!
In these fun family workshops we will be inspired by the architecture of the Hugh Lane Gallery which is a striking combination of classical and modern, old and new.
Arch, Line, Light
Join artist Felicity Clear to create a sculpture and drawing installation inspired by architectural shapes, such as arches and squares. The sculptures created will be suspended in Gallery 13 to create shadows. These shadows will then be used to create a collaborative wall drawing to complete the installation.
Brackets upon Brackets
Join Liliane Puthod to create an ever evolving sculpture for our Front Hall that uses the familiar material of shelf brackets and plants from Ikea to create a different kind of imagined domestic space – using these everyday objects in a new way. Visitors are invited to combine the brackets and add them to an ever evolving sculpture that looks familiar, and yet is not. What imaginary domestic object might you place on your bracket?
Explore designing your own imaginary art gallery of the future and consider what kind of art and events you would like to see there. With Janine Davidson.
All events are free and drop in, so you can stay for as little or as long as you like. Please ask at reception to find out where to go.
