Culture Night 2017 / 5-10pm
This year Culture Night @ The Hugh Lane rhymes with Equinox! As a new season begins, join us to celebrate an evening of culture with vocal performances by celebrated vocal ensemble Tonnta, speed touring, family workshops and a film screening in conjunction with the exhibition The Ocean After Nature. So do drop in and watch, move, participate, hear, make and express yourself as part of a wide range of events for all ages!

Vocal performance Tonnta is a vocal ensemble dedicated to new music led by vocalist and composer Robbie Blake. A series of performances will take place in various locations throughout the Gallery spaces during the evening and will fill the Gallery space with vibrant and dynamic sounds!
FAMILY ART WORKSHOPS Autumnal Lights & Planets with artist Janine Davidson (Ground Floor, Sculpture Hall) Design your own planet and experiment with light reflections on the architecture to create a spatial installation. 6-8pm, Drop in workshop, No booking required.
Body language & space with artist Ashleigh Downey (Ground Floor, Sean Scully Gallery) Get yourself ready for a new season and express yourself with sound, motion and drawings exploring the Gallery space! 6pm-8pm. Drop in workshop, No booking required.
FILM SCREENING 7.30pm. Endless Dream and Water in Between by Renee Green, 2009, 71min (First Floor, Gallery 18) The film explores how islands shape our understanding of place in the world through conceptual, spatial, and historical positioning. This film is part of the exhibition The Ocean After Nature.
