Wagner ( Wesendonk Lieder ) and songs by Brahms and Stanford.
Irish born composer Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924) was hugely important in introducing the works of his friend Brahms to the British public. He was also a big fan of Wagner, one of his defenders in the British press and a regular visitor to Bayreuth. This recital explores the links between the three composers.
