Three of Ireland’s leading jazz musicians create a programme of music devoted to the late great pianist Bill Evans. Despite being devoted to the music of a great pianist, there is no piano in this group but the texture created by the line-up of voice, guitar and bass gives a transparency to these melodic, beautiful compositions and brings out aspects of Evans’ music that may not be so apparent on a first listening in the more orthodox environment of the piano trio. The music consists of compositions either by Evans, or from the repertoire of great Broadway songs closely associated with him. Beautiful, lyrical, timeless and swinging music, over thrirty years after his passing, Evans’ influence remains huge in jazz, – ‘How My Heart Sings’ celebrates this legacy
