Exploring the Collection of the Hugh Lane Gallery- in association with UCD Adult Access and Lifelong Learning

The Hugh Lane Gallery has the foremost collection of modern and contemporary art in Ireland and is believed to be among the first galleries of modern art in the world. The Gallery’s prodigious collection includes masterpieces of French painting. The Gallery also houses the renowned studio of Francis Bacon as well as paintings by this important 20th century figurative artist. These illustrated lectures and talks in front of artworks delivered by art historians offer opportunities for exploring insightful perspectives on landscape, figuration, portraiture and abstraction.
