Join us for an online talk with Marianne Keating, artist and researcher, based in London. Marianne has a practice-based PhD in Visual & Material Culture and Contemporary Art Practice entitled,'They don't do much in the cane-hole way' , Hidden Histories of the Irish Diaspora in Jamaica. She has a MA from the Royal College of Art, London and a BA from Limerick School of Art and Design, Ireland. Marianne's practice-based research addresses Irish histories and the hidden histories of the Irish diaspora, including Irish/Jamaican anti-colonial ties and the hidden histories of the Irish diaspora in Jamaica through narratively reconstructing these histories through their archival traces. Marianne was recently shortlisted to represent Ireland in the 2022 Venice Biennial and has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and internationally.
