This display was the second exhibition in the series The Collection Revealed.
In the second of The Collection Revealed series, the Cubist-inspired works of Mainie Jellett, Evie Hone and May Guinness, artists who were at the vanguard of modernism in Ireland, were shown alongside works by Albert Gleizes and Andre Lhote, both influential exponents of Cubism in France and with whom they studied in Paris.
The Collection Revealed was a series of spotlight exhibitions which offered an opportunity to take a closer look at the work of selected artists from the gallery’s prodigious permanent collection, beginning with Nathaniel Hone in February 2009.
