  • About Geraldine

Geraldine is a Dublin-based contemporary artist who focuses on expressive portraiture and figurative paintings in oils. With a background in social work and socio-environmental activism, her interest lies specifically in the human condition and individual experience. Currently studying at the RHA in Dublin, Geraldine is in the process of building a body of work dedicated to women’s bodies and the female experience. Spurred on by a growing discomfort about the diet industry and patriarchy and their effects on women, this collection of paintings will celebrate women of all ages and sizes who dare to defy today’s oppressive, harmful, and reductive norms and embrace their so-called “imperfections.” While her approach is brave, bold, and colourful, her process is thoughtful, inclusive, and sensitively executed and she is excited to facilitate further conversations by introducing the audience to this refreshingly female gaze.
