On Friday 23 June, a morning of talks was held in tandem with the John Beattie: Reconstructing Mondrian exhibition.
This video features a keynote talk by Nancy Troy, author of The Afterlife of Piet Mondrian and Professor in Art Emerita at Stanford University, and a talk with artist John Beattie, whose exhibition Reconstructing Mondrian at Hugh Lane Gallery deals with an architectural replica of Piet Mondrian’s original Paris studio from 1921-36, which was built by the Dutch architect Frans Postma.
These talks are followed by a talk with Chair Mark O’Kelly, Head of the Painting Department, School of Fine Art, at the National College of Art and Design. With an introduction by Hugh Lane Gallery, Education Curator, Cleo Fagan.
