In this special evening keynote address on Wednesday 9 October 2024,  Commissioner for Human Rights Council of Europe Michael O’Flaherty gave an illustrated talk titled ‘The Artist as Defender of Human Rights’. The talk was followed by a panel discussion in which Michael was joined by Artist Brian Maguire, Hugh Lane Gallery Director Barbara Dawson and Hugh Lane Gallery Head of Exhibitions Michael Dempsey.
