SALMAGUNDI Transcultural Community are delighted to present an interjection of music, movement, drama, and spoken word to an audience in the Hugh Lane Gallery on Thursday the 5th of December between 6:30 and 7:30pm.
Aditya (Adi) Mukheri is a Violinist originally from India. Adi is interested in various musical genres and has a keen interest in movement and dance. Adi will play a mix of styles.
In the backdrop two Pole artists, Alan Power and Rebecca Kehoe will perform gentle and spontaneous movements on and around a Pole.
Nikolozi Javakhishvili, aged twelve will play the Georgian Panduri (a Georgian instrument similar to the Lute), and also sing in Georgian.
The Free Dancers who dance for Freedom are a multicultural group who celebrate and perform drumming and dance. They will perform choreographies that reflect the experience of the refugee making the precarious journey by sea alongside a dance piece from Congo.
Actors Shane Fitzgerald, Patrick McCarthy, Sarah McDonagh and Cathy White will perform improvised Drama, recite poetry, and add a voice to the background of our recently completed film project with Jijo Sebastian.
There will be easels available with art materials so you can capture all the incredible movement and performances you experience on the evening.
