Tree - a collaborative artwork displaying all the individual works by the young people, created throughout the spring programme

Artist Megan Scott has been working weekly with the art group at Bradog Youth Service.

From February to April 2026, artist Megan Scott worked with 10-13 year old young people at Bradóg Youth Service. Taking place on Wednesday afternoons and reflecting the ethos of Bradog, Megan has designed and facilitated workshops led by the interests of the young people in the group. Take a look at the images below for a flavour of the young people’s work!

Bradóg Youth Service is a Community Based Organisation. They work with young people aged 8-24 in the North West Inner City Dublin within Dublin 7 and 1. The youth service is funded by The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). The Youth Diversion Project is funded by The Department of Justice. Their work focuses on those young people in the community that are most in need of a service.

4 February: Art and electronics – each student created an ‘art bot’ that could draw with its feet.

4 February: The art bots created a drawing together…

11 February: Creating imaginary pets using clay.

11 February: Imaginary pets.

18 March: Woodworking – Deciding on design or the finished piece and placement. Introduction to tools and materials.

25 March: Wood portraits

15 April: Kids collaborated to create the final piece to include a tree that will display other aspects of their work with wood, their chosen material.

Kids were supported throughout the project to use tools, and learn some of the basics of woodwork!

22 April: On the final day of the project, Megan, the kids and a helpful handyman installed their tree and their other woodwork portraits, birdhouses and imaginary clay pets in the reception area of Bradog, for all to see and enjoy.
