Explore & Learn

Our Explore and Learn team creates dynamic, innovative and inspiring programmes of creativity and art appreciation for people of all ages and interests. The Hugh Lane Gallery’s Education and Community outreach programme will continue to be taking place off-site in locations including schools, community centres, libraries and other spaces throughout the city during the period of the Gallery’s temporary closure. We are excited by the challenges and opportunities this presents of further embedding the gallery within the community. Practicing artists, art educators and art historians are at the centre of our programming bringing flair, creativity, and imagination to everything we do. These inspiring and innovative programmes forge a multiplicity of connections with all of our diverse communities. Through imaginative and creative engagement with the gallery’s collections, exhibitions and visual art practice, children, young people and adults deepen their understanding and connection to the artistic life that surrounds them. Creative potential is explored and encouraged through stimulating talks and discussions, Inclusive education approaches, and practical courses in our dedicated education studio space.
