Free Event Book

Join us for an illustrated talk as part of the Basic Talks programme.

Join us for talk with artist Angelina Foster – a socially engaged eco-artist from Kildare. She founded Blueway Art Studio in Narraghmore, Co Kildare, a small village with a big sustainable welcome. Her practice is based on collaboration with communities who reimagine ways to communicate climate and system changes through creativity. The cycle of reciprocity in sustainable art-making is at the core of her work. Angelina regularly works with other artists to fulfil participatory projects who share the values of the UNESCO endorsed Earth Charter and use its principals as a guide.

She has a huge interest in heritage and the role art, particularly print, plays in activism and exploration through the centuries. In times of crisis, whether war or climate, women and children are most affected. She hosts workshops which celebrate both women in print and the impact of the letterpress on suffragism.

Free, book or come on the day subject to availability.

Speakers include artists, curators, writers, and critics who will generate discourse on producing, framing and exhibiting art. BASIC TALKS is a collaboration between Basic Space and the Hugh Lane Gallery, exploring alternatives in the dissemination of contemporary art and its discourses.
