We were delighted to present our inaugural city-wide exhibition of children’s art at the Hugh Lane Gallery.
Following a call-out to children aged from junior infants to 2nd class throughout the Dublin City Council area inviting them to enter the Hugh Lane Gallery’s children’s art competition on the theme of What I Love About the Great Outdoors!, 52 beautiful artworks from close to 500 entries were selected for display. The judges were Jessica O’Donnell, Head of Education and Community Outreach, Hugh Lane Gallery; and artists Liliane Puthod and Jane Fogarty. It was wonderful to have seen so many children, their teachers and families visit our What I Love About the Great Outdoors! exhibition with many visiting for the very first time. Initiatives such as our children’s art exhibition play a significant role in raising awareness of, and creating connections, between the Hugh Lane Gallery, schools, families and the wider community as well as showcasing the creativity of our very young audiences. Feedback from teachers and families has been very positive.
