Photography Workshop for Adults with Dave McDonagh

On Tuesday 25 March the Hugh Lane Gallery is hosting a photography workshop with Traveller photographer and film-maker Dave McDonagh.
This two-hour workshop from 2pm to 4pm will show you how to take great photos. Participants can use a phone or camera to take different photos and the workshop will offer an insight into Dave’s own particular experience as a photographer.
This workshop is being organised as part of the Bafushia programme. Bafushia is an exhibition of contemporary artists who share a Traveller heritage, organised by Hugh Lane Gallery, Séamus Nolan and Pavee Point Traveller & Roma Centre.

About Dave McDonagh
David McDonagh is a self-taught photographer and filmmaker. His photograph of Stephen Casey Bracken is part of Bafushia currently on show at the Hugh Lane Gallery. Read more about Bafushia here.
Dave won the Misleór Short Documentary Grant in 2021 and was nominated in 2023 for the Bingham Ray Rising Star Award. He won Best Short Documentary at the Galway Film Fleadh for his film ‘Bring Put Back Together’. In 2023, Dave also had his first solo exhibition ‘Exposure’ in the Hyde Gallery Sligo as part of Cairde Sligo Arts Festival.
