Drawing Portraits: A Beginner’s Exploration of the Art of Portraiture with artist Anca Danila

This beginner-friendly course led by artist Anca Danila introduces participants to the art of portraiture, drawing inspiration from the work and legacy of Sarah Purser, one of Ireland’s most renowned portrait artists. Designed for everyone who has little or no drawing experience, as well as those wishing to improve their skills, the course covers essential techniques for creating realistic portraits and capturing the likeness of the subject, with a focus on facial proportions, facial features, anatomy, and shading methods. Inspired by Sarah Purser’s ability to capture character and emotion in her art, this course provides a solid foundation in portrait drawing, enabling participants to create compelling portraits that emphasise both technical skills and personal expression.
