Born in Dublin in 1909, Bacon grew up in county Kildare. He left home at the age of sixteen and eventually settled in London where he established himself as one of the leading international artists of his generation. Francis Bacon died in Madrid in 1992. This resource offers teachers and students insights into the Francis Bacon Studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery including the relocation of the studio and its contents from London to Dublin.
